Michael Levine, one of the founding partners of the firm, concentrates his practice in commercial real estate and corporate law. His clients include institutional and private lenders, borrowers, developers, owners and corporate entities. His past projects have included office buildings, residential apartment buildings, shopping centers, property for redevelopment and vacant land. He has also provided legal expertise for the development of affordable housing.

Mr. Levine has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including acquisitions and sales; commercial leasing; construction and development agreements; transferable development rights; 1031 exchanges; and real estate financing, including acquisition, construction, mezzanine and securitized loans.

He has prepared operating agreements, shareholder agreements, employment agreements and purchase and sale agreements for both assets and stock transactions.

As a real estate attorney, Mr. Levine's practice has incorporated legal matters involving condominiums and cooperatives. He has prepared condominium and cooperative offering plans, including a complicated lease-hold condominium plan at Battery Park City, and applications for no-action letters. He has also helped clients in the conversion of a cooperative apartment corporation to a condominium association. Mr. Levine has served as general counsel to both condominium associations and cooperative corporations, including Article 2, or Mitchell-Lama, corporations. In fact, Mr. Levine was the first attorney in the State of New York to represent a New York City Mitchell-Lama cooperative in its successful dissolution and reconstitution as a private cooperative.
